Reinvention

PlaceLabs IRL – Leyton – mid-July

If necessity is the mother of invention, what drives re-invention and what does that mean for places? We believe that cities won’t now be rebuilt, but rather re-programmed and re-invented. Driven by the climate agenda, an appreciation of thriftiness, and a new lens on the world post-Covid. As buildings lie empty and new neighbourhood passions spring up, how can we reuse our local spaces? As we emerge into what appears to be an alternate reality, how can our attitude to where we work, shop and play reinvent our city centres? And who are the mothers and masters of reinvention that we can all learn from?
